Each year, around 7,000 people in the UK are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and there are more than 6,600 deaths. This type of cancer is the fifth most common cause of cancer death in the UK, and has the lowest survival rate of all cancers – approximately 3% of those diagnosed survive five years or more. There is no early detection test, treatment is limited and there is no cure. Because symptoms generally do not appear until the disease is well advanced, the average survival time after diagnosis is just six months. ****************************************************** I raise funds for the
Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund (PCRF),
a non profit making Since 2005 I have raised over £1600 for the PCRF, mainly through sales of my handmade greetings cards, and more recently I have started selling handbag / mobile phone charms. I have also organised local card making evenings, office raffles and bonus ball competitions - see Fund Raising Activities. If you would like to support this worthy cause, there is a selection of handmade Christmas cards and handbag / mobile phone charms on this website available to purchase. Please remember that all profits will go to the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund. |
